Kelly Taxter, Owner
Hello! I look forward to meeting you and your children, please allow me to introduce myself. I like to think of myself as a Mindset Coach for kids, but my actual degrees and title are a bit different. You’ll find those labels at the bottom.
A couple years ago I was at my breaking point in my counseling career. I was either crying or yelling by the end of the day. I was miserable having to label each child in order for them to receive treatment. So I decided to pause and ponder what I needed in my life to feel happy and purposeful. And from that self-reflection Trust Your Gut, Inc was born!
In this world of high pressure standards and social media taunting, being a kid is at its most challenging. I know I wouldn’t want to re-do my childhood in the culture of today. So as I pondered, I reflected on what I would want as a support service if I were re-living my adolescences today. Trust Your Gut, Inc speaks to the wellness of each person, in their wholeness. While your child and I walk their wellness journey together we will be developing their mental and physical health, thus increasing their self-confidence. Confident. Now that’s a label I can embrace using.
I look forward to working with your children!

Hi! I’m Kate and here’s a bit about my journey…In 2010, I obtained a Master of Science degree with a Community Mental Health focus, which since then has opened up a world of opportunities. My post graduate work has been with adolescents and young adults in reproductive and sexual health counseling. My counseling journey also includes exploring the world of work with many youth. As a career counselor, I really enjoyed exploring the capabilities of the client and advocating for change, growth and opportunity.
Parallel to my occupation as a counselor, I have worked in the restaurant industry for just about half of my life. Each restaurant I have worked at has taught me an enormous amount about food and nutrition and ultimately became the reason behind my own personal health journey. I am excited to share this passion with the kids and explore how nutrition and what we eat affects our whole self!
Being active and intentional about movement and exercise is another passion of mine and I have proudly become certified through the Aerobics and Fitness Associate of America (AFAA) as a Certified Personal Trainer. I love that Trust Your Gut, Inc provides a space to explore the physical strength of your body in a empowering environment.
I look forward to navigating alongside your children as they continue on their wellness journeys!
